Schiller & Associates, P.C. is a Manhattan boutique law firm whose practice includes the representation of luxury condominium buildings, as well as just about all aspects of law having to do with condominiums. Our regular clientele has included a number of condominium buildings and complexes -- where we represent the condominium Board of Managers. The Board is the governing body of the community. We provide problem-avoiding and problem-solving advice to the Board. We also design legal strategies to keep Boards and communities out of legal trouble, or to minimize the effect and cost of any which occurs. We assist in writing contracts by which the Board purchases property, hires professionals, and constructs improvements. We defend the Board in lawsuits brought by unit owners or outsiders. We prosecute cases on behalf of the Board against unit owners and outsiders. Our practice involves condominium unit transactions as well. Thus, we represent buyers of condominium units. We represent owners of condominium units who may wish to lease them, refinance them, or who have questions about their expansion or use. We represent sellers of condominium units in connection with the sale. We work with condominium managing agents, who run the day-to-day affairs of the condominium property for the Board. Because we are focused on solving our particular client's needs, and do not simultaneously represent others with conflicting interests, we cannot represent every potential client who contacts us. At present, our practice is currently limited to New York State. Most of our work arises in the New York City area.
